Wow...a pretty unique concept, albeit kinda grim... @-@
Some parts seemed better animated than others (I really liked the animation of the carrots going into the pot), but maybe that was just my imagination.
I actually liked the way you portrayed your character! I guess on purpose, since carrots (carrot people?) probably don't wear clothes, but still very effective with the animation.
I think I liked the ending the most, though; abrupt without feeling, well, abrupt. If that makes sense.
So while there could always be improvement, pretty good! I'd like to see more from where that came from.

ChadsWeb responds:

Yes, some parts are probably more rushed than others. About half of this was pushed out 2 days before a deadline, not that I'm trying to make excuses. There's always more to come, of course! Thanks for the review!

Very short...and I actually did like the animation of the girls! And the driver! That was pretty good, and if this was a bit longer or it had more of a plot to it, it would've been exponentially better.
But the length, plus the point of it...it just didn't seem like anything really new.
If you kept the style and gave a more unique storyline, this would totally work.

RebellionFA responds:

This was just something random tho, The next stuffs I would do will have more story and everything.
Thanks tho.

Huh. A bit abrupt at the ending, possibly. But wow, the voices!! Really good! I think there's a lot of potential here, but also room for improvement. There are probably some things (like Kai running away into the distance) that, if they were fleshed out a little more, would look more realistic and a bit cooler. Cool though, you seem to have a really put-together plot! If you stay true to a clear, understandable plot line, I think this can be really great. Keep working out the animation, see how fancy you can get while still staying on a reasonable timeline. Keep it up!

MOA-OZZY responds:

Still a BIG room for improvement XD. Evidently my plot and story telling skills are improving too :), i use to suck at story telling. It's hard starting up an anime on newgrounds. I don't see many people on here with that kinda patience. Thanks though :) stay tuned for episode 2

Proof that an animation doesn't have to have profuse dialogue or be crammed to bursting with action packed scenes. I love the cyclical storyline of the whole animation; it's sad and sweet and, overall, fantastically done. Were the "hills in the water" (for lack of a better term) 3D animation or 2D? I mean, was this whole piece a combination of 2D and 3D or was it all 2D? Because if it was just 2D, i also have to give you credit for amazing perspective changes. All in all, awesome work!

Nelson responds:

all those hills were made up of 3d movie clips. i think CS3 is the earliest version that has the feature?

Really Cool

It was simple, straight to the point, and mesmerizing. To be with someone else...what lengths would you go to? I actually pictured it ending rather horrifically, with each dragon clawing at the other side and destroying their worlds, so the sorrowfully soft ending was a twist for me. Just one really awesome animation, thanks for giving us this!

Horsenwelles responds:

i'm happy to =DDD

Funkalicious

And honestly, the fighting matched the theme. It seemed more like a slap fight than an all out brawl, but when you're getting funky there's not much room for blood and gore. Awesome, though, really solid animating! I was afraid for a second there, with the beginning tweening, but it was really cool ('specially the rainbows). Keep up the funk!

hikuihito responds:

Thanks man!

Not too tall an order

You know, i think you should be able to pull this off. If the animation is right and you're thinking of making, what, 30-ish second clips for each "entry"? That gives you room to put in some solid animating without pushing you to have to make 10 minute animations cataloging your days. You could also combine the 30 second clips for, say, every week or month, so there's enough animation to keep people interested. This animation in particular was superb, i watched some of your other anims and i can really see the progress. I'd have to ask, any inspiration from Eddsworld? But i like this style, smooth and not too complicated (or that's how it looks). Nice job!

Kreid responds:

That's what I was planning to do, the original idea was to make a short clip every so often, then when they get to a certain length, put them all together and release them as an episode in itself. That way I don't have the pressure of making one huge toon, and it helps with the short "diary" idea I had!
And nahh, as much as the comments keep nagging about it, and as much as I do like Eddsworld, it wasn't intentional at all, if anything the art style took a slight influence from Bryan Lee O'malley, I was just thinking of a simple art style that's quick to animate on such a packed schedule that I'll likely have soon!

Connection?

Thought the info sounded pretty good, can't say i have a good enough background to prove that anything mentioned was valid but, i mean, it sounded good! Plus i just like these kind of theories...sort of like the book Second Sight (awesome book, btw). And the ending especially was nice, as a "tying it all together" bit. After watching this though, i was wondering is there any relation to the "Extra Credit" series on the Escapist? Narration sounds really similar, but maybe that's just me. All in all, awesome drawings/animation and good points, as well as organization of information to make easily "consumed" bits of info.

RiverJordan responds:

It's just a pitch raise in audacity. Extra credits was an inspiration when making this though :)

I agree overall

Yep, the visuals were the first things that got me, i liked how you pulled off the lightning and glow effects. Plus i'm a sucker for anime character styles, so you had me there as well. But, i don't know, i guess it was the plot for me, because i was expecting something really momentous and sequel evoking, and then the pixel bunny comes and suddenly it's, what? 0_0 although i guess anyone can be picky about plot, so i still like the animation.

DangerousBob responds:

Haha yeah mixed reaction on the bunny, I guess some don't share my dark sense of humor. Had I known this was going to make it to the Newgrounds Homepage I probably would have approached it differently. :D

Wow!

I can't believe i haven't seen this until now! I mean, i know it might sound cheesy, but finding innocent animations on Newgrounds seems like a feat to me, and here one is! I love how it's plot isn't just run of the mill, but the viewer is still able to understand it and get a real emotional connection with the characters. A+

Mesmay responds:

thanks, its great to know people still appreciate this animation type :)

Ha, I animate! It's a work in progress... Twitter: @EATincart Tumblr: http://eatincart.tumblr.com/ YouTube Channel: EAT Inc
