EATIncorporated's News

So I lay everything out for my lipsyncing, subtle head movements, arms, eyes, blushing, in a nice romantic scene in an animation, and what do i get?
Adobe Flash has encountered a problem!
And when did i save?
When my stick figures were expressionless, lifeless twigs without any eyes or mouth movements!!!!
*sigh* And considering i made a second copy of my file so i would have a failsafe if i ever lost progress
(which i didn't get to save my progress on recently),
i felt pretty...crappy.

So just overemphasizing that point that all flash animators know, ALWAYS SAVE!
Back to work, luckily i only have a couple more scenes then i'm DONE, maybe next time i'll practice more before i go from making 1 minute to 10 minute long animations.
As Rtil said, "Just putting that out there."

In conclusion,
Xp

The deadline is an oncoming bullet train; today, tomorrow, and the next day until 6:00 pm!
Tweaking, music, credits, 10 second and 30 second clip...yep, lots to do, little time to even CONSIDER messing up.
So, wish me best of luck!

p.s.-Cerberus does not look like the picture previously posted, thankfully. He looks a bit cuter, although he could definitely be better, but ah well!

So with this film fest animation, i'm animating mostly in stick figures, and i'm going to use a lot of techniques for suspense since it has to be at least five minutes (and so far i believe i'm notorious for short blips).
If you have an hints, tips, or tricks you think could help me with this, don't hesitate to spit it out! I'm not expecting miracles, but i would like my animation to be understandable (it has an, ummm, involved plot? seriously, i can't even explain it without sounding crazy) and presentable.
Many thanks,
EAT Productions
(Oh yeah, the pic, Cerberus is in the animation. That might not be his final design though, i've just never drawn a three headed dog)

Film Fest Tips Appreciated!

Gearing up to participate in this film fest that's going on in my area. While my school has it's own film fest, this is against a lot of other schools in the district and I'm really hoping i can get my submission in (it's a collab with some friends of mine, and since everyone else i've seen so far seems to be making videos, this might be interesting.) Anyways, I'm not going to leave this animation half finished, so wish me luck!

Winter break and hopefully some snow days are coming up, which means equal amounts of frostbite-inducing outdoor joy and animation free time!
Currently, I'm deciding what to animate for an animation festival coming up. I have a few ideas on the table, and we can submit more than one so whatever i actually finish will probably be entered; can't wait!

It's Random Clean-out day!
I am officially removing my earlier comic, Divine Retribution, to give myself a clean slate so i can put my best artwork out for viewers.
I'm still leaving my older pictures because, while they aren't my best work, i like to leave them so i can show (hopefully) that i'm progressing!

So.
My school has a Film Fest, i think some time before summer, and if i want to make it AWESOME,
(which i do)
i suppose i should start working on it now.
It's just...idk, i'm waiting for the inspiration to hit me, you know?
Like a Newgrounds tank barreling towards you at
1 kilometer per second
with a stick figure driving it.
Oh, if life was like that!

I should get on it, but...

If anybody can help me with this, I'd really appreciate it.
Here's the catch:
I want a song that sounds something like
two guys who have some wicked plan and are implementing it,
or a dance party starting up,
or something kind of bursting out in a sarcastically happy way.
It's hard to describe, if you actually get what I'm saying then kudos to you (kudos is latin, right? in declension for plural "you"? ha, yeah, i'm taking latin, got sidetracked X3
Anyways, I'm looking for a song like this in hope that it will give me a little push towards this animation i want to make, so if anyone knows a "hidden surprise" song like this, let me know!
In the meantime, back to the Audio Portal!

Just wanted to say, i have a profound respect for those on Newgrounds who make the frame by frame effects that i see in some of the stick figure battles these days (i can't really describe it, it's sort of like whispy power attacks and explosions, Micwizard is the best example i can think of, awesome job miccool, btw!)
Of course, it could be that there's actually an easier way to make these effects, and i only think it's hard because i'm trying to make them the hard way, but if i'm right...
THEY TAKE A LONG TIME!
Especially if you are a perfectionist. Ahem. (slightly)
so, kudos to you, animators of meticulous animations!

found out something about my graphic tablet.
it's been in a...mood, a couple of times.
by this, i mean that the tracking was not working right and that the location of the pen on the screen was not coordinating with the position on the tablet.
of course, this could be something other than the tablet, but just in case...
i'll keep an eye on it.
