Really cool!! I love the effects you're using; they're scattered about but at the same time all of the movement doesn't detract from the central focus of it (which is your character) which is really nice! And the edge is a great touch. If I have any critique to give it's honestly a really minor one, in that the second tree trunk from the right seems to have an odd tangent with the thinner dark tree behind it...? But like I said, very minor. Awesome!

cecameron responds:

Hey, thanks a lot! Ah, I always manage to miss a tangent or two. I'll keep a better eye out next time.

Huh, I like it! Although I did think it said "Beauty is shin deep"...which actually wouldn't be bad; it was kinda funny. :D Love the watercolor/pen look; actually done in watercolor and pen or on the computer? OOOOH, and I just saw what you did with the oranges and blues, switching them and such! Very clever! Nice!

Spags responds:

Thanks a lot, glad you like it! I did all the watercolour and pen traditionally, but I fiddled around with it in Photoshop before submitting (mainly colour correction and adding the muddy texture on top of everything).

Awesome job! This was a great competition, and I must say you did a better job than I did with shading and texturing and such. Just sayin'. ;) I really like her hair and how the hand around the leash is posed; it has a really strong grip, which kinda contrasts with her delicate complexion and benevolent glee? So something there just really works. Nice!

Milkytentacles responds:

I was actually a bit displeased with some of the shading and texturing, haha. Thanks a lot!

Cool concept and composition; I especially like the mountain in the back, how you shaded it, and the moon and the valley floor (based off of Death Valley, perhaps? It has that cool, endless look).
A critique: the robot's proportions? I don't mind that he's sketchy, but it looks like somewhere around his arms and hands he gets disproportionally skinny. It just seems to contrast too much with the size of his torso? If the size of his arms and legs were changed around a bit, it could even him up and make this even cooler! Especially with the shading you use; it's like he's sorta translucent, reflecting the night and his inner potential...

chiro94 responds:

yea i know what you mean with the proportions but actually it was meant to be that way, maybe I didnt get it exactly as I wanted to illustrate it but it was sure meant to me unproportional. thanks for the review btw I like to know what people think when they see my work.

yay dragon!

cool dragon! looks realistic, and nice multi-toned shading. could use some sort of background though; how do i know where i can find it to ask of its wisdom?
but good, good!

Speldex responds:

Well thank you, and I'm aware of the lack of backgroundness ( I just made that up ). I'm currently working on my background skills, so bear with me until then D:

nice style

I love the style of this! I would love to make a comic that could be as good, and the expressions are endearing. how did you make it so you could have it get larger?

Yoshiko13 responds:
