Proof that an animation doesn't have to have profuse dialogue or be crammed to bursting with action packed scenes. I love the cyclical storyline of the whole animation; it's sad and sweet and, overall, fantastically done. Were the "hills in the water" (for lack of a better term) 3D animation or 2D? I mean, was this whole piece a combination of 2D and 3D or was it all 2D? Because if it was just 2D, i also have to give you credit for amazing perspective changes. All in all, awesome work!

Nelson responds:

all those hills were made up of 3d movie clips. i think CS3 is the earliest version that has the feature?

Really good! Puts you in the character's place, and really gets across the tension and urgency. I love the whole spectrum of emotions, and the style fit well with the piece. The child's (i assumed girl's?) hand expressions expressed just as much as her face; that was cool.

Smooth! The style is pretty professional, not flawless but the audio levels work out nicely and the voice acting is great. Sol, personality-wise, reminds me of Static Shock. I like the plot, it doesn't seem to be an overdone superhero cliche, but more importantly, I'm psyched that the heroes actually get TIRED. It makes sense, right? It's more realistic than the heroes that just keep fighting without a scratch, and it lends credibility to the animation. Awesome job!

The music choice was perfect, and the animation concept was new and exciting. Some animation points could have been a little smoother, possibly (the grabbing of the blanket, the tying of the cape), but it does not detract from the piece and It still shows a solid understanding of animation fluidity. It'd be awesome to see more of your work!

Really Cool

It was simple, straight to the point, and mesmerizing. To be with someone else...what lengths would you go to? I actually pictured it ending rather horrifically, with each dragon clawing at the other side and destroying their worlds, so the sorrowfully soft ending was a twist for me. Just one really awesome animation, thanks for giving us this!

i'm happy to =DDD

Funkalicious

And honestly, the fighting matched the theme. It seemed more like a slap fight than an all out brawl, but when you're getting funky there's not much room for blood and gore. Awesome, though, really solid animating! I was afraid for a second there, with the beginning tweening, but it was really cool ('specially the rainbows). Keep up the funk!

Thanks man!

Interesting...

A 9, if only that i think you could have upped the sound quality in the end (considering it was the only line said.) That out of the way, it leaves you in question. Is the guy wrongly confused, or was he really just coming back to eat the lady? O-O And who was that other guy? And wow, those trees were drawn really well! So were the clouds- yeah, did you see the light beams? Actually, that detail struck me the most, because you didn't use the glow or blur effect to do it. Very interesting.

Traits

I love this. You automatically know...the fire is just impatient, spontaneous, while the water is so chill and, well, yes, fluid. The elements, the personalities, opposites that attract and form something so strange that it's almost human...

Went against expectations

First of all, this music you have is really good! I mean, i don't know if you made it, but the selection is good. The computer *hahahaha* has an "endearing" character personality and i can't believe you didn't make this hokey! I've seen the whole "boy wants girl and girl doesn't give a rip" theme used before, but so far it's interesting! Will be looking forward to the next installment.

Not too tall an order

You know, i think you should be able to pull this off. If the animation is right and you're thinking of making, what, 30-ish second clips for each "entry"? That gives you room to put in some solid animating without pushing you to have to make 10 minute animations cataloging your days. You could also combine the 30 second clips for, say, every week or month, so there's enough animation to keep people interested. This animation in particular was superb, i watched some of your other anims and i can really see the progress. I'd have to ask, any inspiration from Eddsworld? But i like this style, smooth and not too complicated (or that's how it looks). Nice job!

Kreid responds:

That's what I was planning to do, the original idea was to make a short clip every so often, then when they get to a certain length, put them all together and release them as an episode in itself. That way I don't have the pressure of making one huge toon, and it helps with the short "diary" idea I had!
And nahh, as much as the comments keep nagging about it, and as much as I do like Eddsworld, it wasn't intentional at all, if anything the art style took a slight influence from Bryan Lee O'malley, I was just thinking of a simple art style that's quick to animate on such a packed schedule that I'll likely have soon!

Ha, I animate! It's a work in progress... Twitter: @EATincart Tumblr: http://eatincart.tumblr.com/ YouTube Channel: EAT Inc
